Upper School PCTV Sports Broadcasting students toured NFL Network production trucks and sets at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens on Wednesday, October 30.
The tour was organized by Pine Crest parent, Jeff Cohen, who is the senior audio engineer for NFL Network.
PCTV students were taken through the entire truck and field setup. They heard from network executives, the crew, the director, the camera riggers, and more. The network team even shared their camera setup diagrams and workflow with PCTV students – something that is proprietary and does not normally get shared.
Students had plenty of time to ask questions, and they brought back a wealth of knowledge to improve their future PCTV Sports productions. The gave them a great perspective on live television.
The tour also helped students realize that, although their own productions are on a much smaller scale, they are using the same terminology and techniques as the professionals. They truly enjoyed this unique opportunity to take an inside peak at how the professionals do it!
