Alex Edep ’17 has been awarded a Gold Key Award for his film “Save Kessab” and Seth Kelman ’17 has received a Silver Key Award for his film “Light My Fire” in the Broward Region of the 2016 Scholastic Art Awards.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the oldest and most prestigious creative arts recognition program in the nation. Sponsored by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the mission of the Awards is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent, and offer teens the opportunity to receive scholarships and have their work exhibited and published.
As a Gold Key recipient, Alex is automatically entered into a national competition where his work will be judged by renowned artists, art professionals, and arts educators. If Alex were to win at the national level, he could be part of a national exhibition and publication arranged by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. He would also be invited to attend the National Celebration Events in New York City. The announcements of national winners will be on or about March 14, 2016.
Alex and Seth will have their work displayed at the Young At Art Museum in Davie in an exhibition highlighting the region from February 12 through March 6.
